Responses to a 2D reverse by opener

 

 

1C-1H-2D:      2H = Shows five or more hearts and is one round forcing.

                        2S = Artifical, may be a weak hand with no particular fit or might

                                be bid on a very weak hand and a fit for one of opener’s suits.

                                2NT = Natural, shows a semi-balanced hand and is not forcing.

                                            3C = Shows a club fit with an unbalanced hand and is not forcing.

                                            3D = Shows a diamond fit with and unbalanced hand and isn’t forcing.

                                3C = Natural, might be bid on a five-card suit and is not forcing.

                                         Pass = Shows at least club tolerance – and is not forcing!

                                         3D = Shows a fit in diamonds with a very weak hand and is not forcing.

                        2NT = Natural and game forcing. May be a very strong hand.

                        3C = Shows a fit and is game forcing.

                        3D = Shows a fit and is game forcing.

                        3H = Shows at least a 6-card suit and is game forcing.

                        3S = Splinter raise of one of opener’s two minors.

                        3NT = Shows major stoppers with a some extra values but no clear-cut slam interest.
